One of the top priorities of the foundation is to install an automatic irrigation system to sustain the conditions of our fairways. It is our mission to not only preserve the rich history that make us "America's Course", but to preserve the precious history of organizations like the United Golfers Association (UGA), the only organization that offered African Americans an opportunity to compete in golf starting in the 1920's and continuing through times of heightened racial discrimination. PRESERVATIONĪs we move from our first 75 years into the next 75 and beyond, our preservation efforts center around adding an education and archival facility to both teach the game of golf as well as its history. Our work is also currently extending to our local school system in East Canton, OH with the upcoming East Canton Community Junior Golf League. Several of our young women have gone on to play at the collegiate level on full-ride scholarships. Our girls golf programs and workshops give young ladies an opportunity to not only learn and excel in the game of golf, but learn the many opportunities available to them throughout the golf industry. Our SarahCare program uses golf as a tool to stimulate the mind in individuals with differing levels of Alzheimer's and dementia. Some of our programs include teaching golf to children in the foster care system through Pathway Caring for Children. Our mission of education uses golf as a tool to reach youngsters, minorities, seniors, troubled individuals, women military veterans, and those with mental and physical challenges. The Clearview Legacy Foundation for Education, Preservation, and Turfgrass Research is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable foundation established in 2001 to preserve the Clearview legacy and facilities for future generations.
